

Harold "Rick" Richard Brock, age 69, of Des Moines, Iowa, was born on March 18, 1956, and went home to be with the Lord on December 22, 2025.Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2026 at New Hope Assembly of God in Urbandale with a memorial service at 11 a.m. Final resting place will be at Resthaven Cemetery, located at 801-19th Street, West Des Moines.
Harold was preceded in death by his birth mother, Jeannie Archer;
father, Richard Harold Brock; and sister, Janice Chatfield. He is survived by his loving wife, Jodi Brock; children, Travis (Michelle) Brock and Brandon (Ella) Brock; cherished grandchildren, Ava Brock, Ashton Brock, and Amilya Brock; mother, Bonnie Brock; sister, JoAnn (Leslie) Love; and brothers, Jim (Kandee) Brock, Ed (Lonna) Brock and Scott Rath.
Harold Richard Brock was known above all for his deep love for people. He faithfully stayed in touch with family and friends and had a special gift for making others feel valued and seen. At his home church, New Hope, Harold was known for his warm presence, quick humor, and the way he loved joking and connecting with everyone around him. Most of all, Harold loved his wife, his children, and his grandchildren with his whole heart. His laugh and smile were infectious, filling rooms with joy and making people feel at ease. He lived his life caring for others, always looking for ways to help and serve.
Harold was also deeply proud to have served his country as a United States Marine, a role that shaped his character and reflected his lifelong commitment to putting others before himself. Harold had a deep and genuine faith. He loved going to church, singing in the church choir, and, above all, he loved Jesus with all his heart. His faith was not just something he spoke about—it was something he lived out daily through kindness, generosity, and compassion. In his professional life, Harold was incredibly intelligent and dedicated. As an accountant, he ran his own tax business and took great pride in helping his clients. To Harold, his work was never just about numbers—it was about people, and he served them with integrity and care.
Harold leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, laughter, and service. He will be deeply missed, but his impact will live on in the lives of everyone he touched.
