Helen Carole Wright

November 28, 1935October 16, 2020

Helen Carole Wright, age 84, of Clive, Iowa passed away on Friday, October 16, 2020 in Des Moines. Memorial services are pending.

Carole was born November 28, 1935, in Concordia, Kansas to Earl and Corrine (Hedstrom) Sholander. Some of her fondest memories as a child were the California trips with her parents and siblings and hanging out with her Planeview High School friends in Wichita. After high school, Carole started her career in telecommunications as a Telephone Operator with Southwestern Bell before relocating to Des Moines and finishing out her career with Northwestern Bell, U.S. West, and Qwest. She was active for nearly 40 years with a local Bible fellowship with The Way International, and many times would be a school volunteer at Crestview Elementary. Carole was a member of the Iowa Mineral Society and enjoyed learning about fossils. She was also a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts and was also an Assistant Girl Scout Leader. Carole was passionate about one thing, and that was her family. Nothing could make her smile more or make her more proud.

Carole is survived by her children, Cindy (Robert) Weis, Glen (Carmita) Wright, Gary Wright, and Steven Wright; grandchildren, Jeremiah (Amy) Weis, Angela (Scott) Wagaman, Hannah Weis (Doug McDowell), Calen Wright, Sean (Kadi) Wright, Taneia Mick, Parker Wright; great-grandchildren, Genevieve Weis, Anabelle Weis, Avelyn Weis, Ella Wagaman, Lucy Wagaman, Blake Jacobe, and Adelynn Wright; and siblings, Joyce Goodrich, and Jo Ann Gard. Carole was preceded in death by her father Earl, mother Corrine, brother Jack Sholander, and great-granddaughter Madeline Weis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Way International. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.mclarensresthavenchapel.com for the Wright family.

My fondest memories going to her home for fellowship when Greg White ran fellowship in her home back in the 80's. when my last name was Labour. I have not located any photos from the past. But this is the only one I found that may bring back some memories to Gary and Steven. I have one some where with Carole in the picture. May God protect your family and heart as your mom is now sleeping in Christ waiting for the return o f Christ. Amen.
