Irene Carter, 81, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines with visitation from 1 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
Irene is survived by her four children, Charles (Susan McCuen), Leann (Terry) Birt, Kim Smith, and Terry (Robin) all of Des Moines; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Jean Pearson Hawley, MN and Flora Braseth of Darwin, MN; and one brother, Alfred Heiberg of Hawley, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, David; son, Paul; parents, Alfred and Maymie Heiberg; two sisters and four brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
