Jack Norris Rowley

Jack Norris Rowley, 83, passed away on August 30, 2019, at UnityPoint Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Jack was born on March 28, 1936, in Guthrie Center, Iowa. He worked many jobs over his lifetime to include Super-Value Warehouse, Beaver Valley Cannery, and Ace Air Tool. Jack enjoyed woodworking, junking, and loved all of his dogs dearly. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and was a level 4 member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Susie (Bishop) Rowley, sister Carol Rowley, brother Paul Rowley, and his wife, Kenna.

His wife Janet Woods and her children Marie (Dan) Stein and John Rundberg survive Jack. Also surviving Jack are his children from his marriage to Kenna, Shannon (Tom) Wood, John (Terrie) Rowley, and Clark (David) Rowley; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. Jack was loved dearly and will be missed by all.

Memorial Mass will be 10:30 am on Wednesday, September 4 at St. Theresa Catholic Church (1230 Merle Hay Rd.). Inurnment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

I was so very sad to hear of Jack's passing. As a child I loved going to Jack and Kenna's house to visit . When my dad was sick he went and visited my dad in the hospital and it meant alot to my dad. My thoughts are with my family and my prayers as well. Kim Fisher Bobzin daughter of Bill and Kay Fisher also sending there sadness and prayers the Buck family Lauri and Bill.

I met Jack in the early 70s. My Best friend, Randy Russo, introduced Me to the Rowley family. Soon after I felt like one of the Family. Jack and I had several enjoyable and fun conversations.
He’ll definitely be missed, I send my condolences Prayers to Shannon, John and Clark.

Jack and I grew up together and was in the same class. ( 1955 ) Had a lot of fun together along with his cousin, George Rowley. You will be missed by many. R.I.P. my friend and God speed.
