Jeanne M. Behling, 67, went to her eternal rest on Monday, April 26, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 7075 Ashworth Road in West Des Moines. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McLaren’s Chapel with a Vigil Service at 8:00 p.m. Private inurnment will be at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Jeanne was born January 21, 1943 in Plymouth, Wisconsin and was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Niemann. She was raised near the shores of Lake Michigan in both Sheboygan and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Jeanne attended Alverno College. She married James W. Behling in November, 1965. She worked as an administrative assistant in Milwaukee and then held similar positions in Iowa City, Marshalltown, and Des Moines. Jeanne was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

Her biggest joy in life was raising her four sons. She also enjoyed gardening, landscaping, indoor and outdoor decorating as well as politics and recently shopping on her TV.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, James as well as her four sons, Jay of Urbandale, Jon (Lynette) of Apple Valley, Minnesota, James and Jeremy both of Arlington, Virginia; two grandchildren, Parker and Haley Behling of Apple Valley; brother, John T. Niemann of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin and nephew, Christopher Niemann of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.
