Jerry W. Miles, 74, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2015 at New Hope Assembly of God Church in Urbandale followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m.
Jerry was born July 19, 1940 in Luthersburg, PA to Rex and Leila (Wagner) Miles. He served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1964 and moved to Des Moines in 1986. Jerry was an International Salesman and also worked for Briggs and Stratton. He was a member of New Hope Assembly of God Church. Jerry enjoyed woodworking, bowling, reading, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Betty Miles of Waukee; three daughters, Terri Miles (Tommy Guffey) of Plano, IL, Kelly Sholley of Des Moines and Tracey (Kevin) Clark of Carlisle; five grandchildren, Kassandra, Erica, Lyndsey, Coddie and Madison; six great-grandchildren and one on the way; three sisters, Pat Turner of Indiana, PA, Linda (Vince) Suplizio of Rochester, NY and Paula (Mark) Lowman of Luthersburg, PA and several nieces, nephews and in-laws.
