My best memory of Johnny is his smile and his kindness. He will truly be missed.

Johnny shared his  vacation experiences and    how he gave his wife massages. He was so genuine  and I will miss him and all the great things he said and did. He was a real friend and helped me with my health. He gave me some  of his special healing balm.

While I haven’t seen Johnny since high school, he still made a lasting impression. He was fun, sweet and endearing- a powerful combination. My heart goes out to his family, it is a huge loss.

My heart goes out to all who love Johnny, especially Laura, who was Johnny’s life. I have been blessed to know a handful of people who are indescribably  wonderful incredible human beings. Johnnys one of those people. I imagine everyone who loves him knows what I’m talking about. There aren’t enough words to tell you how awesome he was in so many ways. I do not doubt his spirit and soul live on in another dimension of reality , albeit without a physical human body. The life energy of Johnny’s  smile, laugh, voice and love lives on in each of us who love him. What has become most precious to me and floods my mind with the visual and auditory memory of Johnny greeting me. Arms wide open, smiling his big smile and booming out my name which always led to the best hug a person could ever imagine. I treasure all the memories of Johnny I have. Love and peace to all.

My heart goes out to everyone who has lost Johnny Blythe.  I always enjoyed seeing him, and he was great about keeping me up-to-date with the latest Massage tools he had been trying out.  His recommendation was always good enough for me. I’m not sure if he started first or if I did, but after I had been in business for a while, I found him while calling MTs to be sure my rates were in line with others. He was immediately welcoming and enthusiastic about my business and wanting to help me in any way that he could.  He has been a friend to everyone in the business. Always willing to share information and opinions and never interested in excluding other people.  When I told him we’d be moving into his building and a nicer space than I’d had before, he was thrilled for me. That is Johnny. Not worried about competition. Just wanting all of us to do well. I think every conversation we had somehow got around to including something about his Laura. I can’t imagine the magnitude of your loss, Laura. I am so sorry this has happened. 
Johnny, I wish I could hear you singing and enjoy another one of your great hugs. I hope you know now what a marvelous impact you’ve had on so many lives.

Was always a joy to spend time with Johnny every month - he was always happy & sometimes singing.
Never met his family but feel like I know them thru all his stories over the past several years.
So sorry for your loss.  Johnny will be greatly missed.

I’m still is disbelief that Uncle Johnny is no longer with us. Over the past 4-5 years I had become one of his many clients at Elite Massage. I never imagined that on October 23rd, I would end up being his very last appointment. He always had a story to tell, whether it was about a new show he was watching on Netflix, taking his electric skateboard out for a spin or playing Pokemon Go. At the end of each appointment, he would give me a great big hug and tell me that he loved me.  You will be missed so much Uncle Johnny!  Love ya. 

What can you say about Johnny...do you have a couple of hours?  We started seeing Johnny  as a massage therapist in the early 90’s. As with most of his clients, we became good friends. One thing we learned quickly was the love he had for his family. It was easy to know that Laura was the love of his life! The love for his daughter, siblings and Munch and Shannon were close behind. He was the one every one went to for advice. Hint: he gave it regardless if you wanted to hear it or not. He did so from the love in heart for all of you! We always enjoyed seeing what new gadgets he had in his office from his most recent visit to Sam’s Club. There are many things we will miss about Johnny but one will be our annual toast of egg nog! The angel choir in heaven has just gotten a little bit better now. Rest in peace friend!

I am so sad for the loss of Johnny. I have been his client for 30 years.
Not only was he the best massage therapist I have ever gone to, but he was also a friend. He would talk of his family, Laura and spending time with Jeffrey. Johnny was always upbeat and energetic. He had the most welcoming good morning message on his work voicemail. We talked about his favorite things like the RV trips with Laura, riding on his new electric skateboard, playing Pokemon Go, eggnog, Marco Negri wine, iced sugar cookies and his pixie sticks for all of his clients. Johnny was looking forward to his daughter's wedding. My heart goes out to Laura and the rest of Johnny's family and friends. Johnny touched the lives of many people. He will be truly missed.

I first met Johnny over 30 years ago--he had "magic hands" & was the only MT that could give me relief.  He became a great friend over the years.  I loved his sense of humor & his kind caring nature.  He truly was one of the "good guys".  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  I am proud to have been his friend & will miss his unique and humorous phone messages.  Our deepest condolences to Laura and family.

Johnny and I met playing Pokemon Go - he was always so cheery and upbeat. I didn't know he was an MT until one day when I mentioned my shoulder was hurting.  He grabbed a device out of his car and within minutes had dissolved a knot that had been bothering me for weeks.  I became his client shortly thereafter and he was amazing every time.  I loved how whimsical his office was - there was something to delight in every visit.

Laura, I know nothing can ease your pain but time.  Hold onto the joyful memories and the silly ones.  Johnny was truly one of a kind. I am so grateful for the time I knew him.

Growing up on 29th street, my parents would visit with Johnny and Laura often. They attended my first wedding and I remember him singing and dancing and his laugh. His special soda maker he had, His love for animals, his kind and generous nature, I know my parents are deeply saddened by this news as am I and he will always have a place in my heart w the fond memories growing up. Such a sad loss of life. My parents would frequent them on the regular with visits to Des Moines. I’m so sorry for your loss. 

We were clients of Johnny for close to 25 years. We always enjoyed our visits with him and learning about his family activities.

We will miss his smile and stories.

This is devastating. I’ve been his client for nearly 30 years and he was such a good, funny and generous friend. His love and dedication to family was so deep, and such a huge part of who he was. My deepest condolences and prayers to Laura and his family for such a tremendous and tragic loss. He was such a wonderful, hilarious guy who spread joy wherever he went, and the best MT ever.  There’s a hole in my heart and always will be.

I am so sorry for the loss of Johnny.  I have been with Johnny for over 30 years as his massage client and friend.  I will miss his stories and his always upbeat attitude.  He was so eager for "eggnog season" to begin when i was in last month!  My condolences to Laura and his family.
