Joe Creveling, age 94, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. A graveside service with U.S. Marine Corp Funeral Honors will take place at Resthaven Cemetery on Saturday, January 20th at 10 a.m.
He was born December 29, 1929, in Davis City, IA, to Orville and Daisy (Zika) Creveling. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the Marines and served during the Korean War. Following his enlistment, Joe met and married Eileen Feyh on February 6, 1960, and to this union came four daughters. They remained married until her passing on June 9, 1998. He was employed as an auto mechanic until retirement in 1992. During his retirement, he continued working on cars and enjoyed woodworking, reading his Bible, helping at his church, and helping others.
Joe is survived by daughters, Etta Mae Edwards of Winterset, Sherry Smith of Des Moines, and Mary (Steve) Bagatti of Madrid; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen; daughter, Susan Robinson, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and his parents.
