Kenneth John “Limey” Taylor, 73, passed away following a brave fight with cancer. A Celebration of Life will be held at Nick’s Bar and Grill (the place where Kim and Ken began their journey) in West Des Moines on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 3-5 PM.
Born in Birmingham, England, Ken arrived in Des Moines in 1984 to carry out the American dream as a manufacturing engineer at Firestone. His engineering career also took him to Webster City and Albert Lea. In 1996, Ken and Kim opened Limey’s Pub in West Des Moines, a neighborhood favorite for 20 years. Ken was a lifetime Aston Villa fan and devoted Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Ken was proud to become an American citizen in 2011.
Left to cherish his memory are his bride of 40 years, Kim; sisters Mandy (Tony) Snape, Lesley Alexander, and Ann (Neil) Allerton; and many close and dear nieces, nephews, and cousins.
