Lisa Jean Cascio, 47, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa surrounded by her loving family and friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at McLaren’s Chapel, 801-19th St. in West Des Moines, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. with a time of sharing at 3:30 p.m.
Lisa was born in Omaha, NE on September 1, 1970 to Joseph Cascio Jr. and Sharon (Smith) Hlas. As a young child her family moved to Colorado, Wisconsin, and when she was in 2nd grade moved to Toledo, IA. Lisa graduated from South Tama High School in 1988. She went on to the University of Northern Iowa where she earned her bachelor’s degree. Following college her career lead her to Marshalltown, Des Moines, and then to Kansas City where she worked for Century Link until she became sick. Lisa loved to spend time with her family, friends, her 2 cats Bello and Enzo, travel, and live concerts. She always kept a deep faith.
Those left to cherish her loving memory are her parents, Joseph (Sherry) Cascio of Omaha, NE, and Sharon (Joseph) Hlas of Toledo, IA; siblings, Joseph (Julie) Cascio III, Kimberly Cascio, Katherine Cascio, Anthony Cascio, and William (Allison) Cruz; step-sisters, Rebecca (Andy) Squiers and Sarah (Mike) Kacer; nephews, Dax Garrens and Caden Cruz; nieces, Olivia Cascio, Andrea Squiers, and Laura Squiers; many aunts, uncles, and close friends.
