Joanne and your family, sorry to hear of your lost and will keep you in my prayers. A dad is a great treasure in a daughter 's life.

Dear, Dear Eleanor, Kathy, Chris, Joanne~

I can hardly write, tears are welling up so in my eyes.  I love you all so dearly! 

Today was the first day I could even get myself to read the entire obituary, it's just been too hard. 

I have just been reading through this guestbook, and once again finding myself feeling thankful and inspired by your family- just as I was while growing up as a child.   

Loren was such a kind and gentle man, with such a quick laugh. Lorne and Eleanor were like the Cleavers from Leave it to Beaver, to me.  They seemed to have such an idyllic life, what role models they were. 

At one point in my adult life Mark and I had to buy a 2 story home for our family, because it reminded me of coming down the stairs at your house.  I loved your house on Franklin! 

In 8th grade, Joanne and I were said to be like "2 peas in a pod". We spent a lot of time together..a lot of that time was going to Dahl's and then later going to the mall.  

Lorne and Eleanor were always the parents that would take us if we needed a ride.  I remember them so often coming together, it was obvious they enjoyed each others company, and how much they loved each other. 

Some people touch your life forever.  Loren and Eleanor are two of those people in my life, I know I am a better person because of them.  

Some days I still drive by the house on Franklin, remembering those wonder years...and suddenly I feel like I am about 10 years old again and pulling up into the driveway on my "big" bike. What a glorious time that was with all of you.

Lorne will live on in so many of our hearts, how blessed we all are to have had him in our lives.

I remember Grandpa being my pen pal and drawing me goofy pictures! Every time he signed his name he put his signature cowboy with the big hat! I remember celebrating many Birthday's with his famous Mocha cake. Of all the precious memories I have of my Grandfather, the one that stands out to me the most, is the way he always treated my Grandmother! She was his Queen and Grandpa was always sure to show his love of her to the world. Grandpa showed me the way a real man should treat a lady, and to never settle for less.  I can't wait to see him again!

Great-Grandpa we will really miss you. We had so much fun playing BINGO. We can't wait to see you again. We love you!

Dear Family
I doubt any of you know me, but I worked with Lorne in SME for many years.  He gave me a call in the early 80's and asked if I would consider going thru the SME officer program.  I did, but probably would not have considered if he had not ask.  Lorne was a kind and gentle person.  Always looking out for the younger guys and providing advice.  I'm sorry we lost contact over the years but he was an influence in my life and career.  He and Oscar Stoka provided me with a couple of personal tours of Delavan.

My life was made so much richer for knowing your husband, father, and grandfather. His memory will remain a part of all of us.I can see the smiles that take the place of today's tears as we remember him and our times shared with him. Love Kathy

Uncle Lorne has always been remembered and thought of fondly. He truly was a gentle gentleman.Always a friendly smile and a kind word. It is comforting to know that we shall see and visit again one day, at an even greater 'family' reunion. May you all experience the comfort and peace of your Father God at this time.

Hat's off to a generous, honorable and wonderful man. I will miss you more than words can say. We rest in knowing this is not a time for "Good Bye", but instead we can say,"See ya later". You are experiencing things now that our hearts can only long for! One day we will join you again, where there is no more death, sorrow or suffering and where beauty abounds like none we have ever known. Even more so we shall see the face of God together!
 Thank you Dad for a life of loving long, deep, and wide. For all of your protection and provision. For all of the valuable life lessons you taught us and the example you were. I have no doubt that you have heard the words "Well done good and faithful servant." It has been my privilege to be your daughter!
