Lucille Neuwoehner, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Bishop Drumm. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Resthaven Cemetery.
Lucille was born October 17, 1925 in Greenfield, Iowa. She grew up in Greenfield, lived in Rembrandt, IA for 18 years and had lived in Des Moines since 1974. Lucille worked in the cosmetics department at Walgreen’s for 25 years before retiring in 2006. She loved children, cooking, fishing, camping, traveling, all animals (especially dogs) and had a great sense of humor.
Lucille is survived by three daughters, Connie DeMont of Urbandale, Sandy (Dick) Hook of West Des Moines and Charmaine (Jim) Williams of Ankeny; seven grandchildren, Tamara (Ben) Poutre, Rich Hook, Devin and Brandon DeMont, Meghan, Michelle and Nicole Williams; four great-grandchildren, Owen, Grace and Olivia DeMont, and Tristan Poutre; and a sister, Phyllis Buck of Johnston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vince and her parents, Nile Shirk and Beulah Hunnel.
