Marjorie Jean Foss, 95, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at UnityPoint Iowa Methodist in West Des Moines. A private family service will be held on December 6, 2023 at Resthaven Mausoleum.
Marjorie was born March 1, 1928 in Osceola, Iowa to James and Edna (Wright) Otis. She graduated from North High School in Des Moines, class of 1946. Marjorie married Richard James Foss on May 25, 1947 in Des Moines. She worked as a switchboard operator and eventually clerical work for Northwestern Bell until her retirement. Marjorie enjoyed reading and puzzles. In her younger days she played cards, traveled, cross-stitched, cross country skied, and walking. She would also volunteer for several organizations as well.
Marjorie is survived by her son, Mark Foss of Lakeville, Minnesota; daughter, Jo “Jody” Fuller of Clearwater, Florida; three grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard James Foss and her parents.
