Martha Jane Becker

West Des Moines Martha Jane Becker, 98, died on May 8, 2022. Martha was born on June 21, 1923 in Galesburg, Illinois to Charlie and Hazel (French) Fowler. She married George Becker on May 7, 1942 in Hannibal, Missouri. In 1947 they moved to West Des Moines where they began to start a family. Martha was a homemaker and her hobbies included knitting, sewing, crocheting, reading, fishing and bowling. She made well over 600 Christmas stockings for loved ones and friends. Her faith in the Lord was never ending and she cherished family both at home and her church. Surviving Martha are her children James (Ellen) of West Des Moines, Arnold (Betty) of Norwalk, and Michael (Pam) of Kansas City, Missouri; 9 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, grandson, and three siblings.
