Marty was a lifelong resident of West Des Moines and many years a firm member of First Federated Church. He graduated from Valley High School in 1966 and began his career with the City of West Des Moines in 1970, where he logged 38 years of service. He was considered a valuable employee and liked by all.
Marty walked the neighborhood and Holiday Park daily with his beloved mother until her passing, after which he walked the routes alone, always picking up litter and occasionally money! Marty loved family gatherings with his many questions with each member.
Marty is survived by his brothers Steve, Carl (Duffy), Mike, and Frank, many nieces, and nephews, and grandnieces and nephews. Marty will be dearly missed. Never has there been a more honest brother.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Monday, October 17 at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel. Visitation will begin at Noon until service time on Monday. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
