Mary Rise, 69, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2013 at Kavanagh House on 56th in Des Moines.
A Mass to celebrate her life will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, December 30, 2013 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Des Moines. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at McLaren’s Funeral Chapel with a 6:30 memory service.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Ed; three sons, Jerry Lee Miller II of Boise, ID, Shawn (Shannon) Miller of West Des Moines, Blayne (Shelley) Miller of Beaverdale; daughter, Shannon (Mike) Watson of Johnston; step-daughter, Deann (Troy) Berry of Freemont, NE; daughter-in-law, Maureen Rise of Omaha, NE; 13 grandchildren; and her brother and two sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and step-son, Tim Rise.
In lieu of flowers, Mary requested that donations be made to Kavanagh House on 56th, 900 - 56th Street, Des Moines, IA 50312, or St. Benedicts Food Pantry, 1224 Martin Luther King Pkwy, Des Moines, IA 50314.
