Michael Vern Branstetter, 67, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in West Des Moines with a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery.
Michael was born October 26, 1949 in Des Moines to Herschel and Vera (Koth) Branstetter. He worked as a supervisor at DeeZee Manufacturing. Michael was a member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church and was active in the Children’s Ministry, Vacation Bible School and Pioneer’s Club. He loved to listen to Gaither Christian music and to attend Christian music festivals in Iowa.
Michael is survived by his sister, Bonnie (Jim) Mullen of Altoona; nephew, Sean Mullen of Altoona; niece, Lynette (Dan) Foster of Polk City; great-niece and nephew, Hannah and Brayden; and uncle, Harold Koth of Belgrade, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents.
