Mike was born in Wildwood, PA on March 17, 1938 to Margaret and Michael Polosky. He was the middle of five children who had a wonderful sense of humor and zest for life. A love for the culinary arts was his focus during studies at Blackburn University, a passion he shared with others and passed down to his children. He enlisted in the army where he served his country proudly. In 1964 he married and moved to the Midwest where he worked in Ball Bearing Sales for many years. He joyously welcomed children Margaret (Eric), Katherine, and Michael (Lori) and eventually settled in West Des Moines, IA to raise them. It is during this time that he started Power Cleaner Corporation on South East 14 th where he sold and serviced industrial pressure washers. In 1992 Mike married the love of his life, Dee Malena and they enjoyed 26 years of a truly wonderful marriage; a shining example to their children and friends. The family expanded as he welcomed step-daughters Jill (John), Julie (Bryan) and Jenelle (Ted). As an avid outdoorsman Mike shared his passion for nature with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Additionally he loved engaging family and friends over a fun game of cards while preparing his secret sauced homemade pizza. An impassioned supporter in the development of children, Mike founded YABE, Young Adult Beginning Experience, where he and Dee assisted kids through the loss of a parent through death or divorce. As a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church he was a devout Catholic and lover of Christ his entire life.
He is survived by younger sister Cindy (Henry) and of course his wife and children. Additionally Mike is survived by beautiful grandchildren Cody (Alaina), Courtney, Abbie (Curt), Nick (Carrie), Zach, Jake, Hannah, Amelia, Keeley, Caroline, Meara and Claire, as well as great grandchildren Rowan, Evelyn, Edwin, Max, Sam, Alex and Will.
