Mildred Woltz, 89, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at McLaren’s Chapel with private burial at Resthaven Cemetery.
Mildred was born January 18, 1925 in West Des Moines, IA to Thomas and Rose Fisher. She worked at the Ordinance Plant in Ankeny during WWII making bullets and at Bell Telephone Company as a supervisor. Mildred enjoyed shopping, reading, throwing holiday parties and spending time with her family.
Mildred is survived by her sister, Martha Zugg of Des Moines; two brothers, George Fisher of Adel and David Fisher of Woodward; very special niece, CrystalRose Gaynor of Des Moines and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her four siblings, Kathryn Palandri, Nicholas Fisher, Maryann Brumbaugh and Violet Leppa.
Honorary pallbearers will be Peter Burke, Roy Birckbichler, Dalton Fisher, Taylor Stringer, Tyler Stringer, Matt Fisher, James Callison, Mark Callison and Michael Callison.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
