I am so sorry for your loss.  I have come across a diary of a Allene Rider West from 1914 and have been trying to locate her family.  I have noted she and John had a daughter, Patricia and I am wondering if this Patricia is part of their family and if so, if anyone is interested in having this precious diary. Aunt Pat loved Rex, and his family, so very much.  I am so grateful that she was so well-cared for and loved.  I imagine she and her sister (my mother) are pain-free and young, chattering away in heaven. I didn’t know Aunt Pat as well as  I could have wished, but I enjoyed visiting with her on the phone many times after my mother’s passing. She was a smart, vibrant, beautiful woman and she is missed. My condolences to all who loved her. 

My name is Paul Mounts.  Aunt Pat was my mother's younger sister.  I have a vivid memory when I was 8 or something, of my pretty, red-haired Aunt Pat taking me to the square in Marshall, Mo., where I grew up, and buying me a present in a store.  My wife, Kathy, and I were lucky enough to visit Pat and Rex in their village in Hot Springs three times or so, and they were such nice people. Uncle Rex was delivering flowers then, and Pat had her golf cart.  Kathy and I drove to Des Moines in 2018 to see her at her senior center and spent parts of two days with her.  This is the last time I saw her, though I called her occasionally as long as I could. My smart, plain-spoken Aunt Pat.  Rest In Peace, Pat.

My child attended the day care located in the Perry Lutheran home where "Grandma Pat" spent her final days.  Visits with Pat and her hugs were a highlight of my child's time with the "Grandmas and Grandpas Upstairs"  We are keeping  the repose of her soul in our prayers, and send our heartfelt condolences to the family.   

Pat has been a special friend of mine since 1960 when we started working at the old Iowa -Des Moines National Bank.  We shared many good times together & also with her & Rex when they lived in Hot Springs Village.   She loved talking about her step children & grandchildren & how special they were to her.  Memories of the past will remain in my heart.  Sincere sympathy is extended to the family.  

Pat was always so pleasant to our family during her days with Rex Hild , our cousin.   She always asked what was going on with our families and was a great help and comfort to Rex as they shared their lives together. Her days of suffering are over and now she will reconnect with loved ones that have passed before her.   HUGS and blessings to all her friends and family.

Pat will always have a special place in my heart!  
Prayers and sympathy to her family, but peace and comfort knowing she is in a better place.
