Patricia L Johnson, age 73, of Waukee, Iowa passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023. A celebration of life for Pat will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 11:00 AM at McLaren's Resthaven Chapel followed by a burial of her ashes at Resthaven Cemetery.
Pat was born on December 29, 1949, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a former teacher and taught disadvantaged children. She loved art and poetry. Pat was a proofreader and liked graphic design. She was also an avid birdwatcher.
She always had a pleasant demeanor and brought out the best in people. Pat was a loving mother of three and was always teaching. Pat was an advocate for education and encouraged people to educate themselves and to always find the good in tough times.
Pat is survived by her son, John Wike; daughter, Kathryn (Edward) Fox; and her grandchildren, Alana, Samuel, and Hazel Fox. She was preceded in death by her son, Jeff Wike; and husband, Andrew Johnson, whom passed in October of 2020.
