Patricia Ann (Zaabel) Reed, 83, died at Fountain West Care Center on Sunday, November 19, 2017. She is resting in peace after enduring many years with Alzheimer’s. Services in the form of a Buddhist ceremony will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Resthaven Mausoleum in West Des Moines.
Patricia was born March 17, 1934 in Colorado to Ethel and Roy Zaabel and grew up in Peyton, CO. She lived most of her adult life in Tucson, AZ until diagnosed with Alzheimer’s upon which she moved to be closer to family in Iowa for special medical needs. Patricia worked for many years as a manicurist providing excellent service to high end clients until her retirement. She was not only an ordained Minister but was also a member of Soka Gakkai International and was a practicing Buddhist for over 30 years.
Patricia is survived by her children, Susan (Albert) Pare of Otisville, MI, Patrick Jennings of Otisville, MI, and Georgia Hanson of West Des Moines, IA; as well as five grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Roy Zaabel Jr.; and daughter, Robin Lint.
