Penelope “Penny” Ralles, 69, passed away January 6, 2014 in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Des Moines with burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday with a 7 p.m. Trisagion service at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines.
Penny was born March 12, 1944 to Harry and Esther Ralles in Des Moines and lived most of her life in West Des Moines before moving to Urbandale. She had a flare for style and was always dressed impeccably. Penny loved spending time with her family and traveling. She was also her Homeowners Association President for several years at Coronado Condominiums.
Penny is survived by her daughter, Robyn (Michael) White of Des Moines; sister, Nicci (Rob) O’Hara of Saratoga, CA; brother, Stephen (Carol) Ralles of Reserve, NM; three grandchildren, Stacia, Mahayla and Zarek; Aunt Lois; two nieces, Stephanie and Shannon; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
