Philip Albert Weider, 63, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 25, 2017. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines with burial at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at McLaren’s.
Phil was born August 30, 1954 to Philip and Marjorie (Wilbur) Weider in Des Moines. He attended Drake Pharmacy School and worked for several pharmacies before spending the last 16 years at the VA Hospital in Des Moines. Phil was also an active member of the New Pioneer Gun Club in Waukee.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy; two daughters, Melissa (Justin) Cornwell and Megan (Jason) Smith; mother, Marjorie; sisters, Betsie and Susan; and three grandchildren. Phil was preceded in death by his father, Philip and Pamela Sue Weider.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Pioneer Gun Club for youth programs.
