Phyllis Jean Taylor, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel in West Des Moines with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time at McLaren’s. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
Phyllis was born May 13, 1934 in Commerce, Iowa to George and Helen (Hitchcock) Beveridge. She married John Vernon Taylor on July 4, 1952. They loved each other in ways most people can only dream of. After retirement they loved traveling to Texas in the winter and camping at Jester Park in Granger, IA in the summer where John volunteered.
Phyllis will be greatly missed by her children, Rick (Janelle) Taylor of Des Moines, IA, Cheryl Taylor of Jacksonville, AL, Kelly (Steve) Cron of Ladora, IA; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband John.
