Phyllis J. Wood, 92, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Urbandale Health Care Center. There will be very informal Celebration of Life open house for family and friends of Phyllis on December 20, 2015 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Westchester Evangelical Free Church, 4919 Aurora Ave, Des Moines, IA 50310.
Phyllis was born August 7, 1923 in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada to Frank and Clara (Suckstorff) Smith III. She was active in Christian Women’s Club, PEO and her church.
Phyllis is survived by her four children, Sherry (Steve) Leary, Constance Vande Krol, Timothy Wood and Christine (Jerry) Umthun; twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll K. Wood.
