My special memories of my cousin, Rita, are when my sister, Carmen & I, (around the age of 11 & 12) would come spend the summers in WDM with my father’s cousins, that lived next door to Rita. Rita & her sister would take us riding in their red convertible, we loved it! She would paint color on our nails & took the time to take us to the Iowa state fair. Always so good & nice to their little cousins, Carmen & I. That was over 55 yrs ago. But, we never forgot & loved them for that. I was not able to pay my respects in person, but, she is in my prayers! Gone, but, never forgotten! RIP, dear cousin where there is no more pain, doctors or hospitals. Kiss your Mommy & Daddy for me.

I worked with Rita at Iowa Power. She was such a fun loving lady
with a beautiful smile. She was always happy! She will be missed.

Rita has been a beloved friend since grade school when we first went to school in houses located by Phoenix Elementary School. The houses were for 5th & 6th grades and 7th & 8th grades while the new Sacred Heart School was being built and was opened in January of 1954. I had just moved with my family from Omaha and was the new kid in Valley Junction. Rita, her sister Anita, and their parents were so wonderful and welcoming to me! I really missed Rita after our 8th grade graduation from Sacred Heart as she went to Valley High School and I went to St. Joseph Academy. We always kept in touch over the years and I enjoyed every minute of spending time with her. Rita was one of the finest people ever to enter my life, and she was a faithful friend and devoted mother and grandmother. I will miss her deeply but know that heaven is hers and she has certainly earned it!
