Bob was born in Des Moines, Iowa to Robert and May Kenoyer on June 4, 1931. He was one of twelve children and lived his entire life on the South side of Des Moines. His first job was with Tuttle Biscuit Company. He was then employed by Meadow Gold Dairy, Iowa Pack, and Green Colonial Furnace. He joked that he worked for each of these companies until they closed. He was handy at repairing most anything, and took pride in keeping his home, cars, and tools in immaculate condition. Though he hadn’t attended a church for years, Bob professed Jesus Christ as his Savior and would tell you he always ended his night in prayer.
Bob is survived by two sons, Robert Kenoyer III (Robin) and Larry Kenoyer (Peggy); one daughter, Sandy Arnett; 18 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth (Judy) and Everett (Sheri); four sisters, Darlene Jahnke, Marilyn Rieniets, Judy Bishop (Richard), and Linda Holder (Chuck); and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marlene; three children, Peggy Lynn, Michael, and Onah Leahy; as well as one brother, William; and four sisters, Elizabeth Chapman, Charlotte Bowen, Naomi Bishop, and Lorena Deaton.
Memorials may be given to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa in honor of Bob’s love for animals.
