Robert O. Riddle

Robert O. Riddle, 90, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Wesley Acres in Des Moines. A Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday, November 29, 2013 at Wesley Acres Community Room.

Robert was born September 29, 1923 near Anthon, IA to Fred and Ruth (Day) Riddle. He was a lab technician at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, a VA counselor at the Des Moines regional office, and a driver at Des Moines Mercy Hospital for the adult daycare center. Robert was a U.S. Army Veteran during WWII. He served in the signal corps while in the Philippines and was also a parachutist. Robert was a member of First United Methodist Church in Des Moines and a member of SPAL at Des Moines University. He enjoyed gardening, helping people and spending time with his family.

Robert is survived by his wife, Dorothy Riddle of Des Moines; two sons, C. Robert (Shirley) Riddle of Seattle, WA and W. Fredrick Riddle of Minneapolis, MN; daughter, G. Louise Wymer of Lake Havasu City, AZ; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mabel Lauridsen of WI and Geraldine McKim of Westminster, CO. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Riddle.
