Ronald E. Gould

Visitation will be held at McLaren's Resthaven Chapel, 801 -19th Street, West Des Moines, Iowa 50265, on June 7, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Burial will take place at Resthaven Cemetery, 801-19th Street, West Des Moines, Iowa 50265, on June 8, 2026, at 10:30 am.

Ron was born January 12, 1938, to John and Clarice Gould. He owned his own trucking business for a number of years before joining the Teamsters Local #147 and began working for Super Valu as a truck driver for over 35 years when he retired. He belonged to Gnemeth Lodge No. 577, West Des Moines for 55 years. Ron also belonged to the Scottish Rite, and he was a ZA-GA-ZIG Shriner of Des Moines for many years.

Ron spent his free time “trying” to pick his guitar, drink beer and listening to Ralph Mooney. He loved to “tinker” in the garage and go to Beer 30 on Saturday’s. He was an avid Rangers hockey fan. He spent his younger years following Ralph Mooney to concerts and conventions.

Ron survived by his daughters Rhonda Gould of West Des Moines, Mari Slaughter (Dwight) of Blakesburg, Ia; Grandchildren Chelsea Schwartz (Ben), Evan Slaughter (Leiph), Olivia Slaughter and Ross Goode great grandchildren Penelope Schwartz, Nova and Wylder Slaughter and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his first wife of 34 years Patricia Anne Gould and his second wife Joyce Gould, daughter Kimberly Anne Gould, his brothers Jim Gould, George Barker, sisters Lillian Bucklin, Joan Hesseltine, Kathy Tomlinson. Ron also leaves behind his Beer 30 buddies to keep his beer glass full!
