Ruby Parker

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, September 12, 2014 at McLarens Chapel in West Des Moines with burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at McLarens.

Born December 28, 1920 in Ottumwa, Iowa, Ruby Aleen Troutfetter was one of six children to William and Valice (Bilderback) Troutfetter. She grew up and received her education in Ottumwa. Ruby made a home in Des Moines and raised her children here. In the early 50's she began working in sales for Stanley Home Products until her retirement.

Ruby enjoyed cooking, playing cards and bingo, and camping with her family. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren who all held a special place in her heart.

Survivors include her children Joyce (Dennis) Hatfield, Dennis (Sharon) Olney, and David (Connie) Olney; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four nephews, Bill Troutfetter, Gary Troutfetter, Terry Troutfetter, Ralph Troutfetter; niece, Linda Miller; and two sister-in-laws, Eileen Troutfetter and Juanita Troutfetter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, one sister, and four brothers.
