Ruth Foster, 82, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at McLaren’s Chapel with a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Ruth was born October 29, 1932 in Clarinda, IA to Albert and Alma (Sieving) Henneman. She was a graduate of North High School in Des Moines. Ruth retired from Massey Ferguson after 25 years as a clerical worker. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Ankeny, a charter member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in West Des Moines and was involved with snow mobile and square dancing clubs. Ruth enjoyed spending time at their Sun Valley lake home, going to Las Vegas and spending time with her family.

Ruth is survived by her son, Steven (Valerie) Foster; daughter, Kristi (Matt) Porter; daughter-in-law, Pam Foster; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Doris (Dick) Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Junior” Foster; son, Tim Foster; sisters, Verla Birmingham and Leola Howard; brother, Earl Henneman.
