Sally Jeanne Lang was born on January 25, 1954, in Grinnell, Iowa. She lived in Iowa her entire life. Her childhood years were enjoyed on the family farm in Brooklyn. In 1968, the family moved to Hampton where Sally completed her education. As an adult, she worked for Goodwill Industries and resided in group homes in Mason City and, in later years, Des Moines.
Sally was a gentle soul. Despite having to endure many challenges throughout her life, she never lost her kindness or generosity of spirit. She was loved by her entire immediate and extended family, co-workers and her group home families.
These who loved Sally fondly remember her love of western TV shows, Elvis, collector dolls and dining out – especially when ordering pancakes at Perkins Restaurant! Sally never met a sweet treat she didn’t enjoy. She also looked forward on special occasions to manicures that would highlight her beautiful hands. When you got to know Sally, her subtle sense of humor would slip out and take people off guard. She will be greatly missed.
Sally joins her father, Wallace Lang, brother-in-law, David Dolmage and nephew, Jarud Lang in heaven. Left behind to honor her memory are her mother, Lucille Lang, sisters Diane Dolmage, Cathryn Lang (Michael Walsh), Nancy Rodemeyer (Brad) and her brother, Tom Lang (Tauhni) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
