Sandra Kay Carson, age 83, of Windsor Heights, Iowa, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024. A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 9 a.m. at McLaren's Resthaven Chapel in West Des Moines, Iowa, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 10 a.m.
Sandra was born on July 28, 1940, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, to James and Maxine (Boyd) Christensen. She attended Cedar Falls High School and was a 1958 graduate. On May 7, 1960, she married her high school sweetheart, David Carson and they recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
Sandra was a loving wife, mother, grandmother of 12 beautiful grandchildren, and was blessed to have been a great-grandmother to 8 beautiful great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing tennis and the card game of Canasta. She loved to garden, read, and complete puzzles.
Left to cherish her memory include her husband, David; children, Crystal (Rob) Brink of Cold Spring, Minnesota, Chris (Cathy) Carson of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, Curtis (Linda) Carson of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Carol (Rick) Kelly of Golden, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers and is survived by her loving brother, Jimmy (Carol) Christensen of Waterloo, Iowa.
