

Sarah was born October 26, 1936 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Charles and Barbara Winters. She was born an identical twin, her sister Mary Ann Winters passed away due to complications at birth. Her mother, Barbara, passed away just two days following their birth. Sarah was later adopted by Charles and Barbara's best friends, James and Agnes Hall. Charles remained an integral part of her life until his passing in 1993.
Sarah was married to Karl Neil Fisher, March 30, 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa. They made their home on the southside of Des Moines for many years, where they welcomed their three children.
Sarah and Karl later divorced in 1982. After her divorce, Sarah spent much of her free time reading, writing, knitting and spending time with her grandchildren. She really enjoyed traveling, especially to Arizona and Florida. She met her second husband, Dale Nelson, and the two married in December 26, 1992.
Sarah lived a life full of kindness, love, adventure and dedication to family and friends. Sarah was known for her faith in God and her never ending spiritual quest.
Sarah is survived by her three children Deborah Graziano, Marvin Fisher (Julie), Karla McCarthy (Tim). Her six grandchildren Kassie Graziano-Howe (Andy), Tory Stanley (Nathan), Rachel Fisher, Tim McCarthy (Laura), Alec McCarthy and Molly McCarthy (Kevin Palu) and her six great grandchildren Cecelia, Kadence, Arlo, Nash, Finn, Mac and Madeleine. As well as her loving nieces, Stephanie and Tammy and extended family.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Barbara Winters and James and Agnes Hall, brother and sister in law James and Mary Hall, sister in law and brother in law Karen and Don Cunningham, son in law Henry (Rocky) Graziano, grandson Derek Fisher, second husband Dale Nelson, as well as her children’s father, Karl Neil Fisher.
The family would like to thank Suncrest Hospice especially Diana and James for her amazing care the last few months and the staff at Harmony West Des Moines. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
