

Shirley Lea Richardson was born January 28, 1932, to Birdie and Worthie Billett. She was called home on December 29, 2025. Visitation will be Friday January 2nd from 5-7 at Norwalk Christian Church. Funeral service will be Saturday January 3rd at 11am at the church. Burial will follow the service at Norwalk Cemetery.
Shirley graduated from Grand River High School in Kellerton, Iowa. She then learned to be a nurse’s aide at the Osceola Hospital. She shared her life with her husband Wayne Eugene Richardson. Together they had three children. Mike, Debbie, and Mark. She was a wonderful mom. Making clothes for her family, baking, and cooking for us and helping anyone in need. She was a devoted member of the Norwalk Christian Church for more than sixty years. Shirley was very active in her community. She headed the “Out to Lunch Bunch,” Red Hat groups, prayer shawl group, and several other organizations. Her favorite was, being known as the Avon Lady. She loved her sports cars and rarely slowed her speed. Shirley and Wayne enjoyed square dancing and camping. They also loved and adored their beautiful grandchildren. Visiting them often. She was the light of their lives. Shirley never knew a stranger and coffee was always on. Her smile was contagious, and she deeply loved her church family.
Shirley was proceeded in death by her parents Birdie and Worthie Billett. Her husband Wayne Richardson, her son Mark Richardson, daughter Debbie Curtis, and grandson Doug Richardson.
Survivors include son Mike Richardson, son-in-law Frank Curtis, daughter-in-law Kristy Richardson. Grandchildren are Amy Huston, Stacy Cox, Todd Curtis, Jenny Delpierre, Joe Richardson, and Jeff Richardson. Eleven Great grandchildren. We will miss her dearly!
