TC taught the Pharmacology course for our Physical Therapy students here at Touro College in NY.  The course was asynchronous on-line but TC was always ever present in the background making sure the students were keeping up with the material and giving them words of encouragement. She was so wonderful to work with and her student course assessments were  full of students singing her praises. Not one negative comment. Everybody loved her as their teacher.  We were all so sad and shocked to hear of her passing and we will miss having her as a part of the team. We were lucky to find someone so accomplished who actually made time for us. She was super busy teaching for other programs but she always said, " We'll work it out." Please accept our deepest condolences from the faculty and students here at Touro.

I have to admit from the start that this is a selfish post. I just need to say that I miss you TC.  I miss your humor.  I miss your friendship.  I miss photos of your dogs.  I miss your brilliance and your stories.  I miss the Snoopy raspberrys.  I miss hearing who won the backgammon games between your and your wonderful Traci.  I miss hearing of the football rivalries on Sundays. And the deep and ever faithful love you have of your family.  And your early morning texts.  And your deep, deep love for your students, and your dedication to their well-being and their future.  And your love for all creatures large and small, and your understanding of mankind and your humanity.  Your ability to make the best of a bad situation.  And I want you to know that your name comes up frequently in our friend group text, and we say I hope TC is seeing this.  And I always say, "Of course she is, and she is smiling".  JJ and I send much love until we see one another again!  That will be a beautiful day.  

I miss her dearly. Dr Crisp was a beautiful soul. She was kind, friendly, and an outstanding preacher. Like she used to said " I am not a preacher but I am going to preach you for a little bit.." I waited every day for her class. I loved talking to her. She shared with us her smarts, her dog, her snoopy, her white  tree  through the window on spring. I'll miss your opera hum, I am still confused if it was Vivaldi or Mozart. I will not forget that ACEI/ARB are the drug of choice for CHF in diabetics. I know we always forget. You were and always be one of the best professor and one of the smartest and sweetest person I have ever known. 

Dr. Crisp was one of the best instructors in all my years of education. I have been a practicing PA for years now and am still encouraged by the love she showed while teaching us. She was amazing and supportive to all of her students. So many people in the medical field were fortunate to be a student of Dr. Crip's. A wonderful professor and mentor.  

Terri Ann and Traci are longtime customers of the grooming salon I work at.  I’ve  worked here and helped serve them for 15+ years. I don’t think I’ve ever met two nicer people in my entire life. Terri always knew all of our names and came in for every appointment with a big smile on her face. Her contributions to the medical and animal community go without saying, but it’s her kindness and bright smile that we will remember the most. RIP Terri and Traci, you and your entire family will be in our thoughts. Even the three kiddos.

 My heart is broken; so much that I haven’t been able to write these words. Part of healing is sharing, so here it goes…

My beloved sister Terriann is gone.  She passed 7/7/2020. As a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ, I know she is with her Savior now AND that I will see her again. 

She was my avid supporter, cheerleader, and true friend. She came to visit me every time I moved to a new city to make sure I was alright. As a single mom there were many months that I struggled to make ends meet. Terriann generously sent me money. She loved my girls and made it clear that she would take them if anything ever happened to me & their dad. Tatiana had a beautiful relationship with Terriann.  

She was always the first one to text “Good Morning Bird”. I sent her videos, daily at times, that I knew she’d love… mostly of my dogs, daughters, or garden. She loved hearing from me. Every time I sent her updates about life, she would write back “Bird you just made my day!”  

I am part of a large, very close & supportive family.  My sisters and I have a texting group code that “pings” about 100 times per day.  Right now it’s mostly silent.  We are hurting.  My sisters are my closest friends.  

Professionally Terriann was an internationally acclaimed Professor and Chair of Department of Physiology & Pharmacology at multiple medical schools and won Teacher of the Year almost every year.  She was also an NIH supported research scientist, a productive and highly published research investigator on age-related neuropathic pain disorders, a text book author, expert (legal) witness in the field of medical pharmacology and toxicology, and one of the most humble people I’ve ever known. 

Since her passing, physicians and medical students from all over the world have posted that she was their strongest supporter.  Many include that they are the physician they are today because of the support they received from Dr Crisp during medical school, board reviews and their 

I just happen to be thinking about TC and did a search on Facebook to find that it said “Remembering Terriann Crisp” so I googled her and came across her obituary and my heart sank. I worked for her in the late 90’s at NEOUCOM in Ohio and we lost touch over the years when she moved away. One of my fondest memories of her was when I walked into one of the rooms where the faculty meetings were held to get everything set up and ready. TC was over in the corner playing “Forrest Gump Suite” on the piano. I just stopped and listened as the music flowed into my heart (as I love that song)!!! I think of her every time I hear it and I actually walked down the aisle to it when I got married last year. I hate that we lost touch but have thought about her often. She had a huge impact on me for the 4 years I worked for her. I am so sorry for families’ loss and I will be praying for all of you. You have my deepest sympathy.

I just found  out from her niece’s Facebook post that TC passed away and I am still in shock. She was an amazing teacher and a great friend. When I was a junior faculty member at DMU struggling with teaching, I asked her for guidance. Not only did she help me herself but also directed me to get help from other faculty members who were great at teaching. Even after we both left DMU, I still kept in touch with her and we became friends on Facebook too.  I am going to miss  your love, encouragement and advice TC.  So sorry for your loss Traci. I was an academic assistant at Des Moines University.  T.C. was dependent chair. She encouraged us to dial her home phone number and talk to Macy Dog. Said Macy needed the exercise.

Dr. Crisp was our pharmacology professor when she passed. Upon meeting Dr. Crisp, our entire class absolutely fell in love with her. Not only did she make an amazing first impression on her students, she continued to impress us with not just her knowledge but her incredible teaching skills and how she brought each of us to a higher level of understanding. It's easy to say she was an exploratory professor. More so, she was one of our favorite professors that we have ever had. Our class is so heartbroken that she will not be continuing the journey through medical school with us, but her words, her teaching, her advice, and her great big amazing heart will remain with each of us.  We hope beyond all things that we make her proud, and that she knew how grateful we all are for having had her as a professor and mentor.

TC was a friend at NEOUCOM/NEOMED during our time there.  She was understanding of 'women in science' and challenges they faced in that patriarchal environment.  Ever true to supporting junior faculty and students, TC was always a great listening board.  I am sorry that we hadn't kept in close contact, yet I know that many who know her will miss her.  My condolences on the passing of TC.  Her passion for teaching pharmacology made her a favorite among many students.  She was a role model for me in having the crucial conversations at faculty meetings along with showing kindness and gratitude to colleagues and staff.  TC made everyone she had contact with feel special; her warm smile, contagious laugh and genuine concern for others.   She seemed to know when to always send that motivational message or a funny quote to brighten my day. TC was always ready with a smile and gentle hug each time she came to visit.    She had a presence and a way of making each one of us feel special and she remembered every detail of our lives that we shared with her over the years.  We enjoyed hearing the details of her life and travels.    It was apparent that TC loved her students and teaching so much!   Her love of you, Tracy, was evident in her face each time she spoke of you and her fur babies.   Our hearts go out to each and every member of her family.

I just learned of TC's passing yesterday and was stunned. She was the kind of friend everyone wishes they had...loyal, caring, funny, and passionate about the things she was involved in. I met her in 2018 at an ATF (After the Fledge) celebration for the Decorah Eagles. I was scared to go since I was going by myself, but she immediately came up to me and made me feel welcome. I'll never forget that. She had a way of making you feel that everything was going to be alright. Words cannot describe what a great person the world has lost, but I'd like to think she's looking over us and realizes just how much she was loved. 

TC was the epitome of what a university professor should be . From the moment she started at DMU , she was a bright light who was loved by all of us . She will always be remembered by so many. God has another angel in his armentarium now . 

I will always remember TC as the person who would say the right thing.  Many of us might be thinking about what we should do but she made sure it was said, and said publicly.  She would commend colleagues on their successes, thank people for their service and celebrate the successes of others.  She touched so many people and will be missed by many.  A life so well lived.

Traci, words are so inadequate to express how saddened I am to hear of TC's passing. I have such fond memories of her smile, her enthusiasm for teaching and for life in general, her kindness to all, and the respect she showed everyone from every walk of life. We all lost such a kind soul on the 7th. My heart goes out to you.

We lost one of the best professors IUHS school of medicine had. She was compassionate about her career and she shared with us all of her knowledge and love for pharmacology. We were lucky to see her one last time on July 7 for our last lectures, a day we will always remember.  Thank you Dr. Crisp for always encouraging each and every one of us to keep pushing and never give up, we will get to the finish line in your honor!

I met Terri at the Decorah eagles chat room and as a fellow moderator I enjoyed many pleasant conversations with her.  She will be dearly missed and I am reminded of a favorite saying that brings me are great of comfort.

Perhaps they are not stars in the sky but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy.
