Born on April 25, 1916, in Harwich, MA, she was the daughter of the late Anibal Jose and Mary (Rose) Lopes.
Adeline loved to knit, crochet and do word search puzzles. For many years, she was a member of the Portuguese Sewing Circle. Adeline was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church in West Harwich and would volunteer her time at the church’s thrift shop. She also volunteered at the Harwich Family Pantry.
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Juanario Almeida; her son, A. Ronald Pena; her daughter, Carolyn J. Rocheteau; her companion of many years, Ernest “Ham” Andrews; and her brothers, John J. Lopes and Donald A. Lopes.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Mona Pena of South Dennis, Wende Pena of South Dennis, R. Michael Pena of Plattsburgh, NY, Marie Reardon of North Andover, MA, Albert Rocheteau, Jr. of Boston; her great grandchildren, Brianna, Matthew, Kylei; her daughter in law, Betty Sullivan of Dennisport; her dear friend, Elizabeth Fisk of Boston; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4 pm to 7 pm on Monday, June 18, 2012 at the Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 260 Main Street in West Harwich.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Holy Trinity Church, 246 Main Street, West Harwich, MA 02671.
Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery on South Street in Harwichport.
