Agnes was born in Chelsea "by the sea" MA, graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1959, and went on to receive a BA from Regis College in 1963. After graduation she worked as the Director of Personnel for Gilchrest's Department Store in Boston.
Agnes was married in 1963 and moved to Germany with her first husband Don Wilson who was in the Army. She travelled extensively throughout Europe, and her son Edward was born in Germany where they were stationed. Upon her return to the US, Agnes resided in Scituate where her daughter Suzanne was born.
Agnes moved several times over the years but finally found home in Dennisport where she had spent summers as a young child. She established a consignment shop called Daffodilly's named after her favorite flower. Antique dealers from all over came to see what new finds she acquired. After she closed the shop, she found her true vocation as a Realtor. She won many awards throughout her 35-year career. Her clients trusted her to buy and sell homes not only to them but to generations of their family members. Her strong work ethic, honesty and "Gift of Gab" made Agnes successful at anything she did.
She was happily married to her second husband Thomas Harrienger for 30 years.
Agnes had five grandchildren whom she loved dearly and would spoil rotten. The kids loved the many candy bowls that Grammy's filled with M&M 's and Hershey kisses. She had them believing that "Chocolate was Good for your Heart". Her trips to Benny's for "prizes" with the grandkids were always a favorite as were her last day of school celebration lunches. Agnes's Fourth of July and Halloween parties were legendary; her Christmas Eve celebrations were a family tradition and greatly missed. She was a gracious hostess who loved to decorate for the holidays, shower people with gifts, and entertain friends and family.
Agnes was a generous, kind and passionate woman. She was loved by all who knew her and she had a way of collecting people. Agnes loved her family, enjoyed telling stories, and celebrated her Irish heritage whenever possible.
She is survived by her two children; son Edward Wilson and his wife Judith of Brewster, and daughter Suzanne Pierce of Brewster; her five grandchildren; Braden, Hannah, Eli, Jacob and Emma; her sister Brenda Teleen, her brother Edward McCarthy, her step-sister Pam Wooster, and she was predeceased by her brother Robert McCarthy. Agnes is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
