Anne G Surprise

Anne Surprise of West Harwich, MA, formerly of Westport, CT, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 10 with her son Scott by her side, after a long courageous battle with cancer, Daughter of Manard and Gertrude Goodrich, Anne was born in 1930. Anne grew up in Middleboro Ma and spent time on Cape Cod where she met her husband Bill after attending St Luke’s College of Nursing in New Bedford Ma. Anne & Bill shared their passion for sailing with their family and spent many years at Saugatuck Harbor Yacht Club with their boat, Port O Call out on the Long Island Sound Anne was highly respected among her peers & patients as a head nurse at the Norwalk Hospital. Later in life, she took up a second calling, oil on canvas painting. She traveled around the world to hone her skills . She is survived by son Scott, his wife Deborah, grandchildren Robin and Nathan. Anne was predeceased by her son Stephen in 2007, husband Bill in 2009, and daughter Sharlene in 2011. Arrangements are private and being made through Doane , Beal & Ames Funeral Home in Harwhich Ma. A memorial service will be held on Cape Cod at a date to be announced. Donations in Anne’s honor can be made to ACS or Whittingham cancer center at the Norwalk Hospital or through the funeral home.
