My uncle, my godfather.  Whenever I visited him, he was full of life and stories.  He found happiness in every corner.  I remember when he brought my mother and baby sister to us on the Cape in July of 19060.  And I remember him in his garden where he was so proud of his crop.  Every visit to see him became a party as he broke out wine, cordials, prosciutto , cheeses and fruits, or pasta and chicken!  Just thinking of his voice brings a smile.  I am sad that I will not hear new stories from Uncle Dom.

To the family of Dom Tonucci,

Please accept my condolences and my promise of prayers for the happy repose of the soul of Dom.  I was a close friend of Dom (we called him Tonch) in our younger days. We both graduated from Saint Patrick School in Roxbury. I was in the class of 1942 and he in the class of 1938.  I remember visiting his home on Langdon Street and I remember his sisters Dolores and Diva.

Dom was an important influence on my decision to enroll at Boston College Intown on Newbury Street in Boston in 1947.  We attended there together for several years  before his graduation and our joint entry into military service at the time of the Korean War.  

Our lives went separate ways after military service and our marriages, although Dom and Aurora visited Clare and I in the late 1950s.  I helped Dom by obtaining from another friend of mine the plans for the house he and Aurora built on Tacoma Street in Hyde Park.  In the following years I saw Dom occasionally and briefly after Clare and I moved to Mattapan in 1962.  Our paths would cross when Dom stopped to pick up the morning paper at Phil's store on Cummins Highway in Mattapan.  May Dominic rest in peace with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
