Born and raised in Pawtucket, RI, she was the only child of the late Vincent and Hermina (Schnurr) Collins. Eileen and her husband Mitch lived in Lincoln, RI and summered on the Cape in their Dennisport home. After his passing, Eileen moved to the Cape full-time. To keep busy, she would attend a wide assortment of courses at Cape Cod Community College.
Eileen loved sports. She was an avid traveler and needlepointer. She also enjoyed puzzles of all kinds, especially jigsaw and crossword puzzles.
Eileen was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church in W. Harwich, MA and a devoted member of the choir.
She is survived by her loving sons; Vincent (and his wife Mary) of Lincoln, RI and James (and his wife Laura) of Dallas, TX. Eileen is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Eileen’s Cape friends and family are invited to visiting hours on Monday, June 18th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Doane, Beal & Ames, 260 Main St., W. Harwich, MA 02671. A Funeral Mass celebrated in her honor will take place 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 19th at Holy Trinity Church, 246 Main St in W. Harwich.
Eileen’s Rhode Island friends and family are invited to attend a Committal Service 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 19th at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel, 550 Wampanoag Trail, E. Providence, RI 02914.
