Born April 29, 1917, in Quincy, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Biagio and Elizabeth (DiBona) Sacchetti.
She was predeceased by her high school sweetheart and devoted husband Arthur W Rochelle, her son-in-law, Richard Volpe and her siblings Andy Sacchetti, Rio Sacchetti, Tella DiBona, and Julia Mullaney.
Beloved mother of, Arthur Rochelle Jr and his wife Diane of Dennis Port, Sandra Sarver and her husband Leonard of East Harwich, Cynthia Purpura and her husband Frank of Sagamore Beach and Pamela Volpe of Braintree. Loving grandmother of Bill Rochelle and his wife Lynn, Linda Rochelle and her fiancé Rick McQueen, Doug Rochelle and his wife Lucia, Karin Hass and her husband Ron, Beth Eckert and her husband Don, Melissa White and her husband Jonathan, Marisa Petretti and her husband Rich, Briana Volpe and her fiancé Ricky Underwood. “Kiki” was the affectionate great-grand mother of Kaitlyn, Emily, Adam, Trevor, Annabelle, Adriana, Devin, Lucien, Timothy, Joey, Paige, Cecilia, Scarlett, Ryder and Eleanor.
She was dedicated to raising her family, a graduate of Quincy High School, as well as a long-time member of the Harwich Woman’s Club, Holy Trinity Church and Women’s Guild, CONCH Cape Cod, the Garden Club of Harwich, the Chatham Harwich Newcomers Club and the Guild of Harwich Artists; an original member of Cranberry Valley Golf Club, Harwich, and their Nine Hole Women’s Golf Association until age 92, winning the Cranberry Bowl twice; active in the community, volunteering at the Harwich Family Pantry; enjoyed bowling and was an avid reader.
Jo will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Calling hours are Wednesday, January 26 from 3 to 6 pm at the Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 260 Main St., in W. Harwich. The family respectfully requests that you wear a mask. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 27 at 10 am at Holy Trinity Church, 246 Main St., W. Harwich. Interment at Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy, will be private. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
