Born on July 27, 1941, in Boston, Judith was the daughter of the late James and Grace (Crouch) McLaughlin.
Judith lived in Roslindale for many years, where she raised her son, Barry, whom she considered her greatest accomplishment. She worked as a legal secretary in Boston for more than 30 years and was a loyal employee of the law firm Widett, Slater & Goldman.
In 2001, Judith relocated to Falmouth, where she delighted in the beauty of an ocean-view drive each day. A proud "wash-ashore," she became actively involved with the Falmouth Newcomers Club and the Dirt Diggers Garden Club, where she formed many lasting friendships.
Judith had a lifelong passion for knitting and enjoyed participating in several knitting groups, creating treasured gifts for family and friends. She was also an avid reader who loved browsing the Falmouth Public Library in search of her next great book.
Family was at the heart of Judith's life. She loved hosting the annual family cookout each summer and looked forward to traveling to Connecticut every Christmas to celebrate with her extended family. Nothing brought her greater joy than the special week she spent each summer with her beloved grandson, Michael. Together they explored Cape Cod, cheered on the Falmouth Commodores, enjoyed days at the beach, and never passed up an ice cream treat.
Judith is survived by her beloved son, Barry McLaughlin, and his wife, Maureen, of Dennis Port; her cherished grandson, Michael; as well as several cousins and many dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Judith was predeceased by her brother, Ken McLaughlin, and his wife, Mary, as well as several beloved aunts, uncles, and close friends.
A Mass will be held for Judith at St. Pious X parish of S. Yarmouth on 98 Station Ave, South Yarmouth, on Saturday, September 19th at 11:00 AM followed by a celebration of Judith's life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Outer Cape Health Services.
