

Kathleen “Donohue” Bush 64, passed away on Saturday September 23, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. She was born to the late, John and Marie Donohue on January I, 1954 in Yonkers, New York. Kathy graduated from Winchester High School in 1972 and immediately went to work for the Port Authority at Logan Airport where she was the first female cab dispatcher. They had to make her a special uniform! She also worked for a number of years for TWA in St. Louis, where she worked in the food and beverage industry for airline services. She finally moved back to the Boston area working for the shipping industry before finally arriving at Cape Cod Hospital where she started in the payroll department, HR and finally ended up in Occupational Health where she became the Senior Manager for Integrated Disability for the entire Cape Cod Healthcare system. During this time she finished her Associates degree in business management as well as gaining numerous other professional certifications,
As anyone that ever had an issue or problem with their leaves of absence, Kathy would help that person regardless of what time it was and would be sure to follow any problem through to be sure that the employee was cared for.
She was a consummate professional and the employee was always her number on priority.
Kathy is survived by her husband Eric and never having been a mother herself she became a wonderful step mom to her two step children Justin Bush and Krysta Thomas. Her four grandchildren, Caitlyn, Riley and Cory Thomas were the loves of her life, as well as her newest grandson Hudson Bush. Her nieces and nephews, Consuelo, Richard Jr. Eddie, Laura and Andrew she also loved dearly. Kathy is also survived by her four brothers, John and Lucille Donohue, Richard and Consuelo Donohue and David and Robin Donohue and her baby brother Terry Donohue. A wake of celebration will be held from 4 to 7 pm at Doan Beal and Ames Funeral Parlor on Friday September 29. The following day a grave side service will be performed by her cousin the Reverend Martin McNulty at 11:00 a.m. at Island Pond Cemetery in Harwich, all are welcome to attend.
Kathy wanted it to be known that she was grateful for the care she received at the cancer center at Cape Cod hospital as well as the compassionate care she received through the Cape Cod hospital VNA Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Cape Cod VNA Hospice Center.
