

She was born on September 27, 1945, in Boston, MA, daughter of the late Arthur and Pauline (Lyon) Tirrell.
She married Philip John Rogers on January 5, 1974.
Marie worked as a registered nurse for many years before taking on the role of “Mom”. She was active in many youth sports organizations and driving her son Kevin to the numerous practices and games. Of the many roles she held as daughter, wife, mother, sister, Auntie Re, friend, her favorite was being Gammy to her granddaughters.
Marie is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Phil Rogers of Brewster; her son Kevin (Valerie) of Forest, VA; granddaughters Eleanor and Brenna of Forest, VA; sisters Patricia O’Reilly of South Chatham, MA; Anne DeVico (Paul) of Sandwich, MA; Clare Reilly (Mike) of Ipswich, MA; brothers John Tirrell (Jayne) of Cohasset, MA; Francis Tirrell (James Gavin) of South Chatham, MA; Michael Tirrell (Carlos Martinez) of Old Lyme, CT; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She is also survived by her best friends Marie “Coff” Kelly (Tom) of South Walpole, MA and Terry Willey (Barry) of Stueben, ME who were like sisters to her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Mark O’Reilly.
As a lifelong dog lover, Marie also leaves behind her beloved black lab, Brie, and grand-dog, Penny.
Phil and Marie began their lives together in Westwood, MA before moving to Norfolk, MA. For the past 24 years, they have made their home in Brewster, MA though their most cherished place was their home at Spring River Lake in Maine making wonderful memories with family and friends.
A private celebration of Marie’s life will be held with family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marie’s name may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research to help fight and beat this disease.
