Marie was born and raised in Worcester Mass. to Arthur and Corrine Martin. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Sullivan in 2004.
Marie and Tom were married in 1950 and settled in Northboro to raise their family. In 1968 they bought a small cottage in Dennisport, which became their beloved Cape house.
Marie loved the beach and had an expression, “You gotta get to the beach by noon!” She was an exceptional baker, knitter and cook. She blessed many with her blueberry muffins. Later in life there wasn’t a puzzle she couldn’t complete.
Marie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, whose warm and caring nature will forever be remembered.
Marie leaves behind three loving daughters. Jean Anderson from South Dennis, MA, Joyce Sullivan from Brattleboro, VT and JoAnn Sullivan from South Yarmouth, MA. Her only son John Sullivan predeceased her in 2023. She was Grammy to her five loving grandchildren.
Marie’s daughters would like to express their gratitude to the nurses at Thirwood Place, Beacon and Trinity Hospice for the compassion and care their mother received.
Visitation will be held at the Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 260 Main Street (Rt. 28), West Harwich, on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 9:00 am to 9:50 am, followed by a funeral mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 246 Main St. (Rt. 28), Harwich, at 10:00 am.
Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
