It is with great sorrow the family of Marion Strong Meigs announces her passing on Sept. 28, 2018. Marion was born in Yonkers, NY, a longtime resident of Dobbs Ferry, NY until in 1988 she and her husband retired to Harwich, Ma.
Marion was the wife of the late Robert B. Meigs who died in 1991. She is predeceased by her parents Florence and Alex Voges, brother Robert Voges and sisters Constance Pitman, Aileen Leonard, beloved sister twin Agnes Sticker, her son Roger Strong and former husband Richard R, Strong. Survivors include her brother John Voges of Crystal River, sons Randall Strong of Cincinnati, Robert Strong of San Diego, Larry Meigs of Bryn Mawr and daughter Marjorie White of Harwich along with numerous beloved nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marion began a career in bookkeeping in 1968 working at Camp Sloane, CT and retired from Stemmann, Inc. NY, in 1988. Her passions were gardening, holistic nutrition and artwork. Her variety of her artworks has been displayed through out the Cape, especially her theorem paintings. Marion will be remembered as an amazing mother, and with a zest for life. She loved to share her life with new and old friends. Once you met Marion you never forgot her love and caring, her stories and adventures.
A visitation is currently scheduled at Doane, Beale & Ames Funeral Home, Harwich Ma. between 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Friday, October 12, 2018. A Mass celebrating Marion’s life will be held 11:00am at Holy Trinity church in Harwich.
The family would like to give great thanks to all who gave Marion amazing loving care during her illness, particularly Beverly, Rosa, Marge RN, Roberta and Suzi along with the wonderful care of Visiting Angels.
