

Mary T. Dillon of Harwich Port formerly of Arlington passed away peacefully on July 19th after 89 years of a well lived life. Mary is survived by her loving husband and best friend Thomas J. Dillon of 64 years. Mr. Dillon was a former Physics teacher in the town of Concord, MA
Born in Cambridge, Mary graduated from St. John’s High School in 1944. Later she attended Northeastern University to prepare for a new career at the Park Avenue Nursing and Rehabilitation center in Arlington where she was a compassionate and dedicated Activities Director for 18 years. Mary was a master gardener and an active member of the Arlington Garden Club and the Garden Club of Harwich. She was an avid reader and a devout woman of faith spending her retirement years volunteering at the Holy Trinity Church and as a member of the St Vincent de Paul Society.
Mary was the proud mother of four sons and one daughter. Her life will be remembered as a blessing to her children and their spouses: Thomas Jr. and his wife Nancy (Bukoski) of Swarthmore PA, David and wife Juliane (Bonchack) of West Dennis, Garrett and wife Kathie (Wheaton) of Milford, Paul and wife Karen (Koretsky) of Arlington and daughter Beth Savage of Harwich Port. Mary is also survived by 11 grandchildren: TJ, Brian and Kevin Dillon, Jordan and Jenna Savage, Sara and Parker Dillon, David and Alexandra Dillon and Rachel and Michael Dillon. And her sisters, Nancy Edwards of Dorchester, Patricia Joyce of Avon and her brother Thomas and his wife Joyce of Quincy and many nieces and nephews. Mary will be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and true friend to everyone.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at the Holy Trinity Church located at 246 Main St., West Harwich on Saturday September 26th at 11:00AM. Services will conclude with burial at Island Pond Cemetery on Island Pond Rd. in Harwich.
While she cherished flowers during her lifetime, she requested that expression of sympathy be extended to the St Vincent de Paul Society PO Box 682 West Harwich MA 02671.
