Born Christmas day 1955 in Aspen, Colorado at 7,900 feet to Sally Baker Williams and Kenneth D. Williams. He graduated Bennington College in 1979 and Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Science in 1984. He worked for the Bennington County Regional Commission for the town of Arlington, VT for over 20 years. In 2000, his career changed to teacher at Long Trail School in Dorset, VT where he taught science and physics. His dream job was at the May Center for Child Development, Chatham, MA where he taught until their closing in 2008. After a brief career at Community Connections and job coach at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School, he worked with his wife at Barnhill Pottery and was his Mother’s primary caregiver.
He was the husband of Susan Dimm Williams and leaves behind his sons Benjamin and Elias Williams and stepson Benjamin Fry. He is also survived by his brother Douglas Williams and his wife Andrea Csizmadia and niece and nephew Kendall and Luke. He was the beloved nephew to his Uncles Eddie and Peter Baker their wives Bonnie and Alison and his Aunt Marty Williams. He also leaves behind his first wife Elizabeth Williams. He is predeceased by his parents, his Uncle Mel Williams and Aunt Franny. He left behind many Baker, Muir and Williams cousins.
His favorite things in life were sailing, spending time with family, helping people and eating calamari.
A memorial service will be scheduled in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and Autism Speaks.
